About Us

The concept behind ElderTravelers is simple:  Connect senior travelers with fellow seniors; provide a means for a senior traveling on a tight budget with somebody who may have an empty nest to share, for example. As a host or a guest, members have the opportunity to share each other's company and life & travel experiences. A host or guest experience costs you nothing more than the yearly membership, $40 (US), which is about 1/2 what it costs to stay one night in a nice hotel, and the benefits are priceless.

ElderTravelers members have the ability to search the entire member database of 2,300+ members for fellow seniors at their destination, or along the way, for example. As a host you have the ability to opt out of hosting when you are doing your own traveling or when it is otherwise unfeasible to host. Your level of involvement is completely up to you, from initiating conversations (via email) with potential hosts or guests, to choosing to host or stay with a host based on your comfort level with the other party.

In addition to the ability to search the member database, we provide other helpful senior travel information. We have links to the travel bureaus of all 50 U.S. state, bulletin boards where you can share travel stories and photos and enthusiastically welcome your input. Your ideas, information, links, etc. are encouraged!
