MEMBER NAME: Not Signed In Embryo (where the idea of guests and hosts came from)During a trip to Minneapolis to attend a family reunion, my wife and I were guests of one of her third cousin’s. Having met him only briefly the previous summer, we were to stay with a couple we hardly knew. I was a little worried about being an imposition, seeing as how they both had jobs to attend to while the reunion was taking place. I shouldn't have worried. Their warm greeting and the family tree information we shared soon had everyone relaxed and laughing. They are both our age and live in a nice house in a Minneapolis suburb. We took walks down by the lake, visited for hours, received recommendations about where to eat and things to see and do. It all ended too soon, and then we were in the car headed back to Montana. The car was on cruise and so was my mind. As I reminisced about our visit, I savored the good times and new ties we had.... and you know it really didn't cost very much!
It was then that I realized that travelers all over the world could really benefit from what we had just enjoyed. "Why not!" I exclaimed, startling Margaret. "We’ve just had a great time! We stayed with your cousin whom we hardly knew and enjoyed it. We were in Minneapolis for close to a weeks time and we didn’t spend a dime on hotels or motels." I continued, "They were empty nesters just like us, with empty bedrooms and bathrooms that weren’t being used. They were happy to have us and now we have new friends."
